Crisis Management: The Most Basic Of Needs
August 27th, 2008
Crisis management is something that every individual needs to consider. Whether you are preparing yourself for a crisis situation or if you are responsible for a school full of children, it is necessary to be prepared. There are excellent resources to help you do this and it also helps to take a good look at your individual situation. There are many types of crisis management situations and we will discus that here.
Business Related Crisis Management:
• Public relation crisis: Could you be involved in negative publicity? It could destroy a company. Preparing for it is necessary.
• Financial crisis: Probably the most important type of crisis management that is needed has to do with money.
• Strategic crisis: What if the company is no longer viable? What would you do?
In these cases, you will want to prepare your company or business to handle any such situation. You will want to prepare plans to handle the immediate and long term needs of the company. The planning is necessary in every business out there.
International Crisis Management:
In this case, mostly dealt with and by government agencies, there is a strong need for preparation. The what if’s need to be decided upon long before there is a problem. Most government agencies have crisis management teams that are continuously updating as need for their information and strategies for protection.
School Crisis Management:
Most schools have an obligation to protect their children through crisis management. What would happen if there was a fire, a tornado or some other disaster? What if there was a bomb threat? Now, there are also crisis management strategies developed for dealing with violence and gun fire. You will also find that most schools have management plans in place for unwelcome visitors as well as a death or other emergency a child may experience.
At Home:
It is necessary for families to have crisis management plans in place as well. You will find that these are necessary in helping families to find a way out of problems such as natural disasters, fires and robberies. Dealing with violence, bombs, and even just an emergency in general is necessary.
Preparation is the key to the best laid crisis management plans.

Do Not Be Depressed Just Do Not Trust Humans
August 27th, 2008
Many people are depressed because they have been betrayed by a spouse, loved one or perhaps a close personal friend. Perhaps the Corporation they worked at or their government has betrayed them and lied to them. You should not let this depressed you; you just have to remember not to trust human beings.
Human beings have a very large brain compared to the other animals like them on the earth and they are able to use this brain to help them with deception. This allows them to remember all the lies and stories that they told to each person so they can keep up the game. I’m not sure it is wise to trust any humans at all and I am not saying that in a bad way, as it seems to be precondition and unique characteristics of the human species.
However, if you are determined to trust humans then you may find yourself in a constant state of depression as you relearn lessons of the past and keep getting lied too. I think it is rather hilarious that people listen to our politician podium pushers each and every election and actually go and vote for these morons.
They specialize in deception and apparently they have large enough brains to try to get away with it. Anybody who is honest and a politician they simply make up lies against them, so this means that anyone left who is elected cannot be ethical or honest. Do not be depressed just do not trust humans, it is simple and yet we trust. Consider this in 2006.

St Patrick’s Day Parade Snack Mix
August 22nd, 2008
Today, more than ever, parents want to provide healthy snacks for their children. March seventeenth take along a mix of nuts, fruits and grains, instead of cookies and colas as you watch the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
There are many ways to assemble a snack mix. You first need to decide whether you want it salty, sweet or fruity. All of these recipes call for easy to find ingredients. Just remember, when buying ingredients, look for fruits that aren’t sugar coated and nuts and grains free of sulfites or other preservatives.
Note: Peanuts and other small nuts are choking hazards to small children. Make sure your children are quiet and attentive when enjoying their snack.
St. Pat’s Sweet Mix
1 cups- sugar-free green jelly beans
1 cups- yogurt peanuts
1 cups- carob covered raisins
2 cups- Teddy Graham Crackers @
1 cup- golden raisins
St. Pat’s Salty Mix
2 cups- mini-pretzel
2 cups- cheese crackers
2 cups- sunflower seeds
1 cup- honey roasted peanuts
1 cup- roasted Cashew
St. Pat’s Fruity Mix
2 cups- banana chips
2 cups- apricot bits
2 cups- pineapple chunks
2 cups- dried Dates
1 cup- dried apple slices
Place ingredients for each mix recipe in a zip lock bag, then shake to blend. Each recipe will make approximately seven to eight cups of snack mix, depending on the size of your pretzels, dried fruit pieces, etc.. Make individual portions in small sandwich size zip lock bags.
Of course you can always put your own twist on each mix. It’s as easy as packing up the kids and a couple of bags of snack mix and enjoying the St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Shopping for Loans Online
August 21st, 2008
When looking for loans online, you might find yourself wondering exactly how secure your information is and how the loan that you can get online would compare to a loan obtained at a physical establishment such as a bank or finance company. Both of these concerns are very legitimate, and are weighed every day by people just like you who are trying to make decisions about loans online.
As with most newer technological advances, the evolution of online lenders gives many people a general sense of unease; a little bit of research into some of the online lenders that are available tends to alleviate many of these ill feelings, though.
If you are considering applying for loans online, take a few moments to learn more about the security and competitive rates of online lending services… it can put your mind at ease, and save you time and worry later on.
Online security
Many people are nervous about the thought of sending personal information over the internet when applying for loans online… the growing concerns over identity theft can make anyone wonder about how safe their financial and identifying information is when submitted through an internet website.
Lenders who offer loans online are well aware of these concerns that there potential customers might have, and go to great lengths to make sure that the personal information that you give when applying for loans online is as safe and secure as possible.
Most online lenders utilize state-of-the-art encryption technology and security features designed to foil the attempts of hackers to break into the site to steal information… not to mention the various tech support and customer support workers on duty throughout the day and night. These individuals work hard to make sure that the process of applying for loans online is as safe and simple as possible.
Online lending rates
Because online lenders have lower overhead than banks and finance companies with a physical presence, these lenders are often able to offer their loan services at competitive if not lower interest rates.
The repayment terms of online lenders are often more favourable to the borrower, allowing several options for making payments and variable rates to people of different credit levels.
Because of the nature of their business, these lenders can often offer loans to those with all types of credit, good and bad, using sufficient home equity or other collateral to secure repayment of the loan. Because of this and the security that modern internet technology provides, online lending presents itself as an easy and convenient alternative to traditional lenders and should definitely be considered further so that you might get the best loan for your money.

Your MIND and Its SUPER-Powers Hidden Within
August 15th, 2008
The human mind is an Infinite wonder.
It has the power to transmute your Inner desires into their physical counterparts once focused.
What the mind can conceive, You can achieve, just as long as you have the inner Belief and Will Power to back it.
For example, take the case of where cancer patients were given ‘Placebo Pills’.
These pills were just plain old pills that have absolutely NO healing capabilities what-so-ever.
So what, how did they get well?
The healing power came from their thoughts.
They were told that these pills contained the highest amounts of cancer-fighting ingredients which can effectively cure them in just a matter of months.
So the point here is, they naturally assumed in their mind that if they took this pill it would make them better and that their health will be restored.
Do you see how powerful your mind can be?
They simply registered it in their minds that these pills would cure them of their illnesses and in the process, the belief embedded within their subconscious mind became a reality.
This is just one example of the SUPER-Powers hidden within your mind.
So… now that I have your attention your probably asking yourself this question, “How can I use my mind to achieve my dreams?
Well, one of the most effective ways is to use the “as if” principle.
And what I mean by that is, act “as if” YOU are the person you want to be.
Act “as if” You are already possess whatever it is you have longed for.
Simply put, Think, Act and Feel like you’ve already accomplished what you have dreamed about all your life.
This principle is a very Powerful principle if you simply believe.
And you’ll be much closer to your goal if you’re constantly intact with your objective(s).
It’s okay to be obsessed with your dreams.
It doesn’t mean that if you want to be Superman you’ll be able to fly out of a window and into outer space.
That would be Crazy!
I’m simply saying, “Do what needs to be done”.
Take ACTION on your dreams.
Let your visions Encourage and Motivate you.
The problem with people in todays world is that they are too pre-occupied with Worries, Anxieties and Negative Emotions.
As a result of this, people are adversely affecting their state of health.
White lies unfortunately have become prevalent nowadays in order to ease the burdens or to persuade others to do things that they thought are unattainable.
A famous person once said, “Whenever you think you can or you can’t, you’re right!”
If you think you are poor, then you are; unless you properly condition your thoughts to a ‘Positive Mindset’.
I know it’s hard to think “Rich” if your environment is not conducive to such way of thinking.
Use your imagination and ‘Visualize’ in your head that your house is a mansion and your old car is a Porsche,…
Well, I think you get the picture.
There is absolutely NO limit to what the mind can achieve but You have to combine Belief, Will Power, and ACTION with positive thinking in order to achieve your inner desires.

Forecasting For Profits - How To Do It
August 13th, 2008
It is important to forecast the income and expenditure of any business as accurately and realistically as possible. Once done, comparisons can be made with the forecast against the actual results achieved and timely remedial action taken with any wide variations. This applies to all income and expenditure. If your income should fall below forecast levels you can immediately discover the reason and take remedial action to resolve the situation. Likewise if your expenditure is greater than forecast you can identify the cause and address the issue.
Forecasting may appear to be difficult at first sight, but with careful thought and realistic assumptions it is surprising how accurate a forecast can be. Not only will a good forecast show up any slippage in your assumptions, it will very quickly allow you to see how efficient your business is operating and reveal areas that can be improved and so increase profit.
One important point to remember is if you find you have made significant errors in your forecast and you discover the error, you can always revise it for the remaining time it has to run.
The income of the business should be comparatively easy to set. It will comprise any revenue coming into the business from various sources. Obviously different businesses have different streams of income, which will include sales of goods or services, commissions, fees, rents, rebates and many other sources of revenue. When compiling a forecast do not fail to take into consideration any known price increases or other factors, including inflation that will affect your income figures. It is a great sense of achievement and encouragement when you see your actual income figures exceed your forecast income figures and your expenditure figures in line with or below your forecast. So try and get it as near right as possible the first time.
When setting the expenditure figures for the business extra care should be taken. This is one of the most difficult forecasts to make. Done realistically and with careful thought it will be of enormous benefit to the business.
What you are endeavouring to do is to forecast as accurately as possible how much money it will cost you to operate your business for the period of the forecast (usually one year), split into monthly segments. This will mean itemising and considering all expenditure, large and small that the business will incur. It is not possible to be absolutely accurate with these forecasts, but with care, realistic figures can be arrived at. Don’t forget to include known increased costs that will be effective at a later date such as taxes, statutory costs, rent increases, wage increases, inflation, seasonal variations and any other known factors. It is always advisable to add a small percentage to the expenditure figures that are likely to fluctuate as a contingency.
Once your expenditure figures have been set and you are satisfied with them make sure that you check your actual costs against your forecast on a regular basis, certainly at least once a month.
By doing this you will be able to see immediately what your expenditure is in each area of forecast and enable you to take remedial action on any serious over expenditure.
It will also show up quickly any shortfall in your income and enable you to determine the reason for the shortfall and take swift action to rectify the situation. It will show up any areas where savings can be made on items of expenditure, for example savings can very often be made by shopping around for outside suppliers of services.
In this article we have shown the forecasting of expenditure will go a long way in enabling you to control your overheads.
Forecasting may seem to be difficult to carry out but with care and realistic assessments it is very useful, interesting to do and extremely satisfying when comparisons with actual results are made.

Set Your Relationship Up for Success
August 11th, 2008
A quarter of thirtysomething couples are unhappy in their relationships, a new study shows. Just 51% of thirtysomething couples said they were “very happy” in their relationship, with the remainder saying they were “quite happy” but would like to see improvements.
While it’s good news that over half of thirtysomething couples are ‘very happy’, more and more couples are tolerating the state of their relationships and don’t know how to get the results they want. Many of them complain that a lack of respect, fun and quality time together contribute to being unhappy in their relationship.
The research (conducted by website www.lifecoachforyou.com) polled over four hundred thirtysomethings in the UK and USA, and found that the biggest wants people have in their relationships are one to one time (17%), sex (10.7%), consideration (9.8%) and laughter (8.0%).
It’s evidence that many couples lack the skills and motivation to improve things in their relationships, and are putting up with things they don’t need to. Steve Errey, a coach who specialises in thirtysomething relationships says: “Couples don’t realise that they are in a position to change things for the better. The simple fact is that bad relationships exist because they’re allowed to exist by each partner. Rather than tolerating the bad parts of a relationship they can put effort into improving them or removing them altogether.
“Why tolerate something that you know is making you unhappy? People don’t put up with a lack of respect or honesty with their friends, but accept it with a partner simply because they think that’s what they’re supposed to do. It seems crazy that people are prepared to live like that when all the answers are there for them.”
Unlike getting a driver’s license or getting a job, the frightening part is that there are no requirements for entering a relationship. Anyone can enter into a relationship without any training, skills or awareness other than lessons learnt by watching their parents. As a result, people enter into relationships without any way of knowing what they’re creating or how to manage them.
“A relationship isn’t something that sits outside of you, that you can point at and blame for what might be wrong,’ says Errey. “What people don’t realise is that relationships are about relating to another person, and that means that where there’s a bad relationship there’s bad relating.” The good news is that relating skills can be picked up later in life and put to good use.
Ben and Vicky are a thirtysomething couple living in London who seemed to have it all, and they went to see Steve before their wedding. “We’d put our heads in the sand about the trouble our relationship was in,” says Ben, “and with the wedding approaching we both owned up and wanted to do something about it. Talking things through with Steve gave us a really clear picture of what was working and what wasn’t working for each of us.”
“When I got into things I saw how big a part I was playing in how things were between Ben and me,” says Vicky, “I thought the things that were wrong were down to what he was doing and not doing, and it was a real shocker to find out that I had just as much of a part to play. We worked with Steve and came up with different ways of doing things, better ways. We haven’t looked back, and I’m so excited about being married.”
Steve says there are three key things to bear in mind when working to improve a relationship. “Be absolutely prepared to own your part of it, warts and all. Nobody’s perfect, and you need to honestly acknowledge your contribution to the state of the relationship and pin down the behaviours and patterns that you fall into. It’s important to see that relating is an active process, not a passive one.
“It’s useful to get clear on what kind of relationship you want with your partner, and to come up with a shared vision of the relationship. What qualities do you want to see? How do you want to feel? What do you want the relationship to be about? How do you want your partner to feel? You don’t need to share everything, see eye to eye all the time or avoid arguments, so this is as much about debunking some of the myths and getting real as well as being absolutely clear on what you both want. Communicate openly about what’s real for you and get excited about what you want for yourself and for each other.
“Lastly, you need to sweep aside the old behaviours, patterns, squabbles and disagreements if they’re not working for you. If you carry on exactly as you’ve been doing you’ll keep getting exactly what you’ve got. Don’t get clingy or possessive about those things, but start fresh and recognise that in every piece of your behaviour with your partner you can send either a message of acceptance or rejection. That’s where so many couples run into trouble - it’s easy to just be lazy and unwittingly sending a message of rejection.”
“We still argue and tease and sometimes get frustrated,’ says Ben, ‘but we know how to deal with that stuff now and know it’s just part of being together. It actually makes it all okay, because we know we can get through it all.”

Will The Real Fitness Hormone Please Stand Up!
August 10th, 2008
New Medical Research shows high-intensity exercise can increase the body’s natural production of the fitness hormone by 530%!
When I completed the research phase for a health and fitness book in 2002, the bio-medical research was complete enough to draw hard conclusions about the type of fitness program that would make your body increase anti-aging, anti-MIDDLE-aging, and athletic performance improving HGH growth hormone - THE FITNESS HORMONE. However, the research didn’t specifically test high-intensity sprints until now!
NEW LANDMARK RESEARCH
In a new study, researchers compared HGH growth hormone levels in several ways resting (for a baseline measurement), after a 6 second cycle sprint, and after 30 second cycle sprint. Researchers also measured growth hormone for hours afterwards to see how long HGH stayed in participant’s bodies after exercise, (The time course of the human growth hormone response to a 6s and a 30s cycle ergometer sprint, 2002, Stokes).
THE RESULTS ARE INCREDIBLE!
The 6 second sprint method did move HGH some, but didn’t come close to the body’s potential to release this powerful hormone. The 30 second all-out effort sprint experiment increased HGH by 530% over resting baseline and 450% over the lesser intensity sprint.
Like earlier research studies, HGH stayed elevated for 1.5 to 2 hours after the sprinting program. And according to the researchers at the University of VA, the HGH released during exercise targets body fat for up to two hours after training. (Impact of acute exercise intensity on pulsatile growth hormone release in men, 2000, Pritzlaff).
This new research became the essence of my book; how to increase HGH through specific types of fitness training, and how to keep the fitness hormone in your body for two hours after training going after body fat.
The Synergy Fitness anaerobic sprint workout can be performed in many different ways cycling, swimming, skiing, running, XC skiing, or even power walking. It can be performed in the gym on an elliptical trainer, stationary bike, recumbent bike, or a treadmill.
What ever the method, the goal is to reach all FOUR critical HGH-release benchmarks during fitness training. This workout multi-tasks aerobic and anaerobic training during the same workout, and it takes about 20-minutes. (Details in Chapter 8, Accelerating Growth Hormone Release with Anaerobics) www.readysetgofitness.com
MAY BE THE MOST POWERFUL HORMONE IN YOUR BODY
HGH may be the most powerful fitness improving, anti-aging (and anti-middle-aging), body fat reducing, muscle toning, hormone in your body. And the FITNESS HORMONE can be increased by 530% with specific types of anaerobic fitness training. Natural is almost always better. And increasing the Fitness hormone naturally through exercise is the NATURAL choice!

Get Off Those Scales NOW! - This Means YOU!
August 5th, 2008
Ok, I’ll stop shouting. However, one of the most frustrating comments I deal with is “I’m exercising, I’m eating right, and I’m not losing weight.”
Allow me to first say that our obsession with the scale borders on fanatical. At the extreme some of you jump on the scales many times a day. This is a recipe for frustration, despair, disappointment, and failure. (Can you think of any other really bad things to add here?)
The reasons are,
1) your bathroom scale weight is ONLY a reflection of the force of gravity against you, meaning, it doesn’t tell you the important stuff like how much of your weight is body fat and how much is lean tissue.
2) Your weight can fluctuate WILDLY during the course of the day, depending on, among other things, your hydration level. And you ladies have a really tough time with this during your monthly cycle.
A couple of the most accurate ways to tell you are progressing toward (or maintaining) your goal weight is to have periodic pictures taken of yourself, and, also, gauge how well your clothes fit. Pictures and clothes don’t lie. Period. Even looking at yourself in the mirror is subjective, but picture and clothes tell the whole story.
If you must use a bathroom scale use one that also measures your body fat %. Several of these are available on the market at affordable prices. Links to some are below. If you exercise (and you do don’t you? hmmm) please look for a model with an “athlete” mode.
Personally, I use a TANITA model, but that was the best model at the time I bought mine 3 or 4 years ago. Do your own research.
My friend Jack gave me a great tip on using the scales to YOUR advantage. He and his wife, Terri, take their bathroom scales and skew the indicator to read something that is completely out of line with reality. E.g. Instead of an initial setting of zero you might choose 18.
How does this help? Well, when you look at the number. . .it’s just a number and doesn’t mean anything to you. Then record this number in a chart or spreadsheet and take the difference between this weigh-in and the last. Over time you can watch your “weight” trend up, down, or sideways.
Monitoring you “weight” this way removes the obsession with watching the scales. You then focus on progress. If you see the trend going up and you haven’t been in the weight room building muscle, then you can arrest the fat gain before it’s out of control.
On the flip side, if your “weight” is trending down and that’s the direction you want to go, great! However, if you are in maintenance, or you are losing too fast, action can be taken immediately.
It is still better if you use a scale that measures body fat %, however, short of that this is a great tip. Don’t overdo it on the weigh-ins however. Weighing yourself more than once a week can be counterproductive.
